Project: Magnesium-smelting from dolomite, Xushui County, Heibei Province, China
Background : The dolomite ore in Xushui Contains more than 20% Mgo thus is excellent for Magnesium-smelting. The dolomite ore has only been used as cheap constructive material in Xushui, because there is not magnesium-smelting industry nearby.
It is forcasted that the demond for Magnesium in the world will increase 4 times by 2000 and Magnesium is in shortage now.
Plan : Founding a Magnesium-smelting plant in Xushui to produce Magnesium of 4,000 tons/year.
Total invstmenet : US$ 7,500,000 (fixed assets :US$ 6,250,000, liquid assets : US$ 1,250,000)
Technology and design : Provided by Shanxi Metallurgical Design Institute, China.
